Triton

Kidstar (2022)

The debut EP from Triton captures themes of angst, nostalgia, and love with captivating lyrics and cinematic lo-fi production featuring an array of synths and guitars. Written in Triton's junior year of high school, Kidstar was a strong debut built on DIY equipment that has reached venues and airwaves across Canada.

Standout tracks include Sweet 16, which details grief and trauma through angsty lyrics and an upbeat indie rock hook, Everything, a ballad that captures the healing power of love and the overwhelming assortment of emotions that surround teenage life and love, and Overachiever, a fan favourite at shows that encapsulates KIdstar as a project, combining smashed drums, dreamy guitars and ear-candy synths to tell a story about trauma and the emotions that come with it.

So Far, So Good (2023)

Triton's second EP continues on the groundwork that Kidstar laid, this project featuring more influences of shoegaze and grunge to detail themes of existentialism and death. Created in Triton's senior year of high school, So Far, So Good brought a fresh sound to the Canadian alternative Rock scene.

“Raspy guitar, a stylistically dynamic voice, and clever allusions are what make Triton’s music stand out. His songs craft vivid moods within the brain: grainy pictures, bus rides home at night pretending you’re a character in a film, speedwalking across campus, or overthinking in your bedroom. Regardless of the image, Triton has something for you.”

Hell, Michigan (2025)

Hell, Michigan is an explosive yet equally emotional set of tracks that guide listeners on a journey surrounding feeling lost and confused in the transitional age between youth and adulthood. Singles 27 Club & Miles On It detail the struggles of substance abuse as an emotional crutch, while other tracks stand as existential intermediaries that question the standing of life between these struggles.

“Hell, Michigan is a bold and beautiful showcase of what self-produced music can sound like in 2025—raw, experimental, emotional, and genre-defiant. Triton has crafted an EP that not only honors the genres it draws from but pushes them forward with a distinct and modern edge.” – Ava Surbek for Adore Magazine
